Geoff is a senior lawyer with Estate First Lawyers. Geoff is a career dedicated estates lawyer with over 12 years’ experience in this area of law. His particular passion is estate planning law. He derives a great deal of satisfaction from assisting clients to implement effective estate planning strategies that are thorough and clever. Geoff is thoughtful and takes the time to listen to a client’s needs and wishes before crafting a tailor-made solution.
Education & Credentials
Geoff was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Qld in 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science & International Relations) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Queensland. Geoff has also completed his Masters degree in Law (majoring in Estate Planning), and was awarded the prize for top Masters student in his graduating year.
Geoff is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
Expertise
Geoff has practised exclusively in estate law since his admission, advising clients in all aspects of estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation. He joined Estate First in order to practice exclusively in the area he loves best – estate planning law.
With his many years’ experience, Geoff is able to effectively advise on all aspects of the estate plan, including testamentary and protective trusts in Wills, special disability trusts, estate planning for superannuation, companies and trusts, asset protection and charitable gifts. Because Geoff has been involved in estate litigation, he provides comprehensive strategies on how to minimise the risk of an estate claim.
Speaking & Presentations
Geoff held a number of senior legal positions prior to joining Estate First and has extensive experience in presenting to Advisors and clients to help build awareness and understanding of the importance of getting a strong estate plan in place. Geoff also has expertise in crafting training and education sessions for Advisors designed to assist them in having effective estate planning conversations with their clients.
